We’ve broken ground for the centerpiece!  Early this morning, ground was broken to excavate for the pedestal footing which will support the bronze statue centerpiece of the Honoring All Veterans Memorial.  City Public Works employee Jason Stroth operated the City’s backhoe to dig a hole approximately six feet deep and 20 feet wide to make way for the huge concrete form that will contain about 35 yards of concrete for the pedestal.  Everything is right on schedule and the first layer of concrete, expected to be poured on Friday, May 9, 2008.
