Memorial Concept (click picture below for larger version)
Richfield Artist Travis Gorshe is the designer of the Honoring All Veterans Memorial.  Gorshe envisions the following for the memorial...

All branches of United States Military will be honored by concrete and granite columns that are 12 feet high and curve in towards the focal point in the center of the Memorial. One column will be placed on the north side, one on the south, two on the east and two on the west. Between the east and west columns will be a glass oval two feet in diameter that is cut diamond-style on the inside and flat on the outside with a crystal dropped in the center to reflect a source of light at sunrise and sunset. This reflection of light represents our honoring of our Veterans with full days of remembrance.

Outside of the east and west columns will be granite tablets six feet high and three feet wide.  Each of these tablets will hold 100-120 names.  At the center of the memorial will be a bronze sculpture of Charles Lindberg embedded in a 10-ton taconite rock from northern Minnesota.  To view pictures of the rock, click here.

The concept was originally brought to the Richfield Arts Commission, who helped drive the effort to form the Richfield Veterans Memorial Task Force, which became the non-profit group, Honoring All Veterans Memorial, Inc.
